Cavill Robinson is very committed to the role and aims of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, Britain’s eighth largest trade body.
Jeanette Robinson, our MD, is a Non-Exec Director of the REC and is providing specific input to their strategy concerning the Agency Workers’ Directive, a piece of legislation which if passed in its current form could change the face of temporary work in the UK dramatically.
The REC has a strong belief in raising standards in the industry and has in February 2005 introduced the REC Audited Standard. Any agency with this standard will be complying not only with all aspects of the Employment Agencies Act of 2004 but also with all aspects of the REC’s code of practice. Cavill Robinson has already applied to be audited.
The REC’s Code of Practice is as follows:
The REC Code of Good Recruitment Practice has been created in consultation with industry stakeholders to ensure that all members of the REC conduct their businesses ethically and to the highest standards and to promote good practice within REC membership.
The REC will offer guidance, legal advice and training to members to help achieve these standards. The Code is binding on all individual and corporate members of the REC and their subsidiary/associate companies. Where a member operates in a sector or sectors covered by the REC’s specialist division codes of practice, the requirements of the relevant code or codes are also binding. A breach of this Code or the specialist division codes will be dealt with under the Complaints and Disciplinary procedures of the REC.
