My client is passionate about the environment and because their business is growing  fast, they are now looking for someone who is studying their accountancy exams and feels the same way to join their small, and friendly finance department. Key aspects to this Assistant Accountant role include:
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements through to trial balance including control accounts and journals
  • Supervising three staff 
  • Liaising with external parties including auditors, credit reference agencies and credit insurers
  • Chasing the more difficult debts
  • Reconciling sales and purchase ledger transactions. The latter can be complex
  • VAT REturns
  • Supervising payroll administration
  • Managing credit applications and credit checks
Ideally, to be successful in this Assistant Accountant role ,you will be studying your accountancy exams and have a real interest in the environment. You do not need to have ticked every box in the list above as training can be given on things like payroll. You do need to be a team player with good debit and credit knowledge, a desire to add value to a growing company and strong interpersonal skills.
