This renowned Institute is now recruiting for a Head of Finance, who will not only manage their team but provide valued input to their project work and transformation program. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Managing, developing and mentoring 12 finance staff including both qualified and non qualified individuals
  • Setting and reforecasting budgets
  • Tracking and understanding the spend for projects ranging from £50k to £40 million
  • Understanding and tracking the funding for projects, which comes from a variety of sources
  • Monitoring the Institute's assets vary from small to very substantial
  • Having good communication skills to explain project finance to non financial people 
  • Analysing any areas which need change or improvement. This could include system changes or how best to use current resources.
  • Overseeing audits and year end.
To be successful in this Head of Finance role, it is likely you will have worked in one of the following areas: charities, universities, public sector or government, research and development, other institutes. The organisation will consider people from outside these areas however . You must also have good communication and management skills and be adept at tracking all aspects of project finance.
