Part Time Assistant Accountant

My client is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant, who wants to work 24 to 28 hours a week over four days. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who, over a period of a few years, might want to increase their hours and also study and be mentored as the company is succession planning for when the Finance Manager retires.

Key aspects to the role will include:

• Shadowing the Finance Manager and being mentored by her

• Initially, inputting purchase and sales ledger invoices but with a long-term view to having future line manager responsibility for this area

• Assisting with monthly accounts

• Preparation of bank payments, receivables and month end reconciliation for all bank accounts

• Reconciling the factoring account

• Managing the petty cash and foreign currency 

• Credit control

• Assisting with monthly payroll and stock

• Intrastat and VAT

• Monthly control and reporting of Aged Debtors and Creditors

• Assisting with year end processes

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years’ finance experience and will be AAT qualified and studying towards an ACCA/CIMA qualification. This will be coupled with excellent Excel skills
