Your accounting skills will be appreciated by this owner manager, who is keen to build his business further. After a difficult 12 months due to one off issues, the business has turned the corner and has a strong pipeline and is forecast to do a turnover of £10 million.
The owner now needs a strong accountant to support him achieve his objectives. Key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Maintaining the cashflow as the business continues to fulfil customer projects
  • Overseeing a team of 2, who input invoices and PO's although you must be prepared to roll your sleeves up and help at busy periods
  • Preparing monthly management accounts
  • Reconciling the balance sheet
  • Liaising with Project Managers weekly concerning sales, costs and margin reports
  • Dealing with c. 8 expense claims a month
  • Payment runs
  • Monthly payroll and paying subcontractors (Knowledge of CIS would be a positive)
  • VAT Returns
  • Liaising with the accountants at year end
  • Assisting the Owner to achieve his objectives
The owner will be interested in applications from accountants , who are qualified or qualified by experience and who enjoy the challenges of working in an owner managed SME.
