This week, I went out to meet the Group Financial Controller of one of Cambridgeshire's top places to work according to a major national newspaper. I thought anyone working for this lady would be incredibly fortunate as she really cares about developing her staff.

She now has an exciting opportunity for you to join her team on a 12 month contract. 
  • Initially, you will be resolving queries relating to credit issues. For example: a small company might have only £20k of credit with them and wants to extend their credit. You would be expected to talk to the different departments within the company to see how this can be facilitated. 
  • You would be dealing with c.30 to 40 queries a day.
  • Later in the contract, you could become involved in other areas of the finance department as the company is growing and they are constantly busy.
The real key to being successful in this role is:
  • Having some experience in a finance department - sales ledger, credit control, purchase ledger
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to prioritise and resolve problems
