This SME has recently been taken over and has ambitious plans for growth in the next year. In order to achieve its aims, it is now looking for a hands on and results driven Financial Controller to take sole charge of all the businesses accounting and improve and stream line current processes. Key aspects of this Financial Controller role will include:
  • All aspects of the accounts from transactional work to producing the accounts
  • Analysing the current accounting procedures and implementing changes to ensure accounts produced are accurate
  • Developing accounting reporting including introducing variances and commentary
  • A good understanding of stock and inventory in a fast paced environment
  • Producing budgets
  • Being commercially minded in order to focus on pricing and costs to the benefit of the company's margins
Ideally, you will have the following in order to be successful in the Financial Controller role:
  • Strong accounting skills coupled with good communication skills
  • Drive and initiative
  • The ability to communicate financial matters to non financial people
  • An interest in helping an SME grow
