This new role will be such an exciting start for you in 2025. The company spun out of Cambridge University 10 years ago. They have plenty of funding and have developed fascinating products, which have a variety of applications. 

They are now looking to commercialise those products and are looking for an all round qualified accountant with great communication skills and the ability to implement robust systems and processes. 

Key elements of the role include:
  • Implementing robust systems and processes which will weather the company going from a £600,000 turnover this year to over £20 million in two years time. The company currently use a basic Xero package.
  • Developing the monthly management accounts from one simple P+L to accounting for two separate entities split between R+D and Operations
  • Creating and developing more analysis for the business entities including stock, bills of materials and cost of sales
  • Cashflow and budgeting
  • Accounting for projects and grants
  • Working on R+D tax credits
  • Supervising one member of staff
If you are a great communicator with the ability to grow with an organisation, this role has great career prospects too and you could find yourself in a year or so taking over as CFO.
