This Part Time Finance Assistant role ( 21 hours minimum but can be more if needed) is a superb chance to join the small finance department of a company with a friendly, family feel about it. The company is based in central Cambridge and is both profitable and growing steadily. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and the role will consist of the following:
  • Posting all receipts and expenditure to the cashbook
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Liaising with the sales department to match receipts with invoices
  • Keeping track of expenditure of different departments within the company. This will involve being able to export and manipulate data within Excel and being comfortable with adapting to using a number of different systems. 
  • Comparing expenditure month on month and also to the previous year
  • Providing auditors with spreadsheets containing the information they ask for
  • Checking royalties are correct which needs an exceptional eye for detail and good people skills to be able to speak to authors
In order to be successful in this Part Time Finance Assistant role you must be able to provide evidence of the following :A very keen eye for detail
  • Strong Excel and IT skills
  • A logical mind
  • Good people skills
The company is extremely flexible around when the hours need to be worked and will be happy with someone working five short days or three full days. They want someone for 21 hours as a minimum but would look at accommodating someone needing more hours than this and possibly even full time.
