My client is  a long standing family owned food business, based near Baldock and has a turnover of around £4 million. Its long standing Accounts Manager/Bookkeeper is leaving due to having relocated and they are now looking for someone with strong bookkeeping skills, who enjoys working with a friendly team and wants a stand alone role. Key aspects of this role include:
  • Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
  • Producing monthly financial statements including cashflow, profit and loss and prior year reports
  • VAT Returns
  • Journals
  • Weekly bank reconciliations and daily cash reconciliations
  • Entering all sales and purchase transactions on to Sage 50
  • Processing payments once a month
  • Liaising with HMRC and the Accountant when needed
  • There is the opportunity to improve processes by further automation

In order to be successful in this Accounts Manager/Bookkeeper role, you must have strong bookkeeping skills coupled with knowledge of Excel and Sage Line 50 ideally. You must have an eye for detail and be able to prioritise tasks.
